Background
Chiho started her career as a full time TV / radio announcer ( presenter & narrator ) for ABC station (Asahi Broadcast Cooperation) in Japan. Narrating for documentary programs was one of her favourite jobs. After quitting her permanent job as an announcer Chiho went to the University of Hawaii in Big Island. It was in Hawaii that she began her journey with healing energy, learning the power of sound using traditional Hawaiian chanting and exploring natural healing techniques.
Chiho's genetic heart condition was a hidden blessing in a way, as it led her to the Crystal Armonica. One day, while in a crystal shop in Japan, she heard the heavenly tones of the Armonica played by Yatri. Chiho could feel the sound and energy created by the pure crystal tones resonating in her heart and leading her into deep meditation. Deeply touched by the Armonica's energy she made a deep commitment to find out more. Eventually she flew to America to obtain her own Crystal Armonica.
Chiho went on to study sound healing with international sound healers, Jonathan Goldman and Dian Booth. Finally she moved to Australia to continue work in healing using art and sound, and gained a certification in Sound & Colour healing in 2006. This has given her access to work with organisations such as the Activ foundation and to offer individual and group sound healing / therapy sessions. She also studied holistic counselling based on Rudolf Steiner's "anthroposophy" and art therapy. This has given her even more tools for energy healing work.
During her first years in Australia, while practicing as a sound healer, she gained a Graduate Diploma of Teaching in Music and Japanese to work as a school teacher in Australia. Teaching in a Steiner school was an excellent opportunity to use music, sound and colour with children. At the same time Chiho was also recording her two CDs of the Crystal Armonica.
Currently Chiho is using all her past skills for her sound and energy healing work as well as creative works.

Music
Chiho started learning the piano when she was 4, and she was always chosen to be a piano player / accompanist in her school days.
Later, her interest in music expanded beyond the bounds of classical music as she explored the world of ethnic music. Chiho studied ethnomusicology, learnt ukulele and Hawaiian chanting at University of Hawaii. She also learnt sanshin (*Okinawan banjo) from the Okinawan descendants while living in Hawaii. Back in Japan, she started playing Erhu (Chinese violin ; photo on the right) and performed on the stages such as NHK (Japanese national TV) and Osaka hall as a member of "Hua Xia Chinese Orchestra" (presently called "Nihon-Kagakudan"). Chiho also sings her own compositions and has played as a solo player and in bands with Phil ("Samsara Gypsy" and "Nomad Dream ") at concerts and festivals both in Japan and Australia.
With the background of classical and ethnic music, Chiho studied music education and received a Graduate Diploma in teaching music after moving to Australia. She teaches music theory, piano and Erhu.
